You stay in a private, structured inpatient program near Toronto, with a daily schedule that includes individual therapy, group work, skills practice, rest, and focused work on life skills, relationships, and planning for after you leave.
Signs Your Opioid Use Needs Attention
Opioid dependence does not always announce itself with dramatic events. Sometimes it is quieter; a gradual shift where pills become the center of your day, or withdrawal creeps in faster than you expected.
You might be ready for help if:
- You are taking more than prescribed, or using it in ways you did not intend
- Stopping feels physically unbearable; sweating, cramping, anxiety, restlessness
- Your life revolves around avoiding withdrawal or securing your next dose
- Relationships are strained because of secrecy, money issues, or unexplained absences
- You have switched from prescription pills to street opioids (or fentanyl) to manage cost or availability
- You have overdosed, or come close, but still feel unable to stop
- Chronic pain started this, but now the pills are causing more problems than they solve
If this resonates, you are not alone, and you do not need to wait for things to get worse before reaching out.

Why Choose OAR Wellness for Opioid Treatment
Opioid recovery is complicated physically, emotionally, and logistically. Many programs discharge too early, do not coordinate with MAT providers, or treat opioid use as a moral failing rather than a medical condition. We do not do that.
At OAR Wellness, you can expect:
Medical coordination, not judgment
We work with your MAT prescriber or coordinate detox referrals before admission.
Preparation for life after inpatient care
Most relapses happen within 90 days. We focus on what happens after you leave.
Private residential care near Toronto
Secluded enough to step away from triggers, close enough to stay connected.
Trauma and mental health integration
Opioid use often starts with pain. We address both physical and emotional roots.
Rebuilding daily functioning
Opioids disrupt sleep, appetite, and structure. We help you relearn the basics.
Honest about what recovery requires
This is not a 30-day fix. Recovery takes years. We are your starting point.
If our program isn't the right fit, we'll tell you and help you find what is.
How Our Inpatient Opioid Treatment Program Works
Opioid recovery does not follow a linear path. We meet you where you are and adapt as you stabilize.
Pre-admission assessment
We review your use history (prescription pills, heroin, fentanyl), current physical state, MAT status, mental health, chronic pain, and external supports.
Medical stabilization (if needed)
OAR Wellness does not provide on-site detox. If you need withdrawal management, we coordinate referrals to medical facilities and schedule your admission once you are stable. If you are already on MAT, we confirm continuity with your prescriber before you arrive.
Residential programming
Daily structure includes one-on-one therapy, group work, skills training, and rest. We draw on many therapeutic modalities, including CBT to address thought patterns around craving and relapse, DBT for emotional regulation, CPT, EMDR, and trauma-focused therapies when pain or past experiences drive use.
Physical and emotional stabilization
Opioids disrupt your body's natural systems. We integrate fitness, mindfulness, nutrition, and sleep hygiene to help your nervous system recalibrate.
Discharge planning (starts week one)
We map out the long-term recovery journey: Where will you live? Who is in your support system? What is your MAT plan? How will you handle high-risk situations?
Post-discharge support
Virtual check-ins for individuals and families, alumni groups, community resource connections, and a clear pathway back if you need more intensive care.
Opioid Use, Mental Health, and Trauma
Opioids often start as a solution for pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, or emotional numbness. Over time, they become the problem. But the original issue does not disappear just because you stop using it.
At OAR Wellness, we treat the whole picture:
- Trauma and PTSD - Many people turned to opioids after injury, surgery, or traumatic events. We use trauma-focused therapies to address what is underneath the use.
- Anxiety and depression - Opioids temporarily quiet these conditions, but worsen them over time. We treat both the withdrawal-induced mood changes and the underlying mental health concerns.
- ADHD and executive dysfunction - Opioids can provide artificial structure or focus. We help you rebuild those skills without substances.
We do not force you to choose between managing pain and getting sober. We work with you to find a path forward that addresses both.
Support for Families and Life After Treatment
Loving someone with opioid dependence is exhausting. The fear of overdose, the lies, the financial strain, the constant vigilance; it takes a toll.
At OAR Wellness, we work with families to:
Understand opioid dependence - What withdrawal looks like, why relapse rates are high, how MAT works, and what realistic recovery timelines are.
Learn overdose prevention - Naloxone training, recognizing warning signs, when to call 911, and how to respond without panic.
Set boundaries without abandoning - How to support recovery without enabling use, how to protect your own well-being while staying connected.
Participate in structured sessions - Weekly family meetings (virtual or in-person), education on post-discharge risks, and help navigating what comes next.
Prepare for the road ahead - What if they relapse? What if MAT is needed long-term? What if pain issues resurface?
We do not promise that treatment will fix your loved one. We help you understand the process, set realistic expectations, and create a plan for the years ahead.
