What to Expect Before Admission
Once your assessment is complete and admission is confirmed, we will help you prepare for your stay.
Before you arrive:
- Required documentation and health information
- Packing checklist (comfort items, clothing, prescriptions)
- Overview of facility amenities and daily structure
Please note that transportation to and from our facility is the responsibility of the client and their family. We ask that families coordinate arrival and departure logistics ahead of the admission date.

Family Involvement During Admissions
Recovery affects more than one person.
During the admissions process, we offer:
- Family education on what to expect during treatment
- Collaborative intake with loved ones (if appropriate)
- Orientation to our family therapy programming
Family involvement is not mandatory, and is based on the individual's consent.
What Happens If We're Not the Right Fit
Not every program is right for every person. We are honest about our scope of practice. OAR Wellness does not provide medical detox services. If withdrawal management is needed, we coordinate referrals to appropriate medical facilities and plan your admission once you are medically stable.
We also do not treat eating disorders, psychosis, or sexual behaviour disorders onsite. If we believe there is a program that would be a better fit for your needs, we will make that referral and help ensure you get the help you need. Transparency is foundational to our relationship with every client.
